"I decided early on in my career that I wanted to be a k9 handler. I observed first hand how amazing these dogs are at doing their job and how they are always successful. When interacting with the community or locating a missing person/wanted fugitive. Their nose is like no other. A dog can do the work of several officers in a quick amount of time. Gracie and i have been a team for four years. Over those four years Gracie has had countless finds of persons and drugs. One of the most significant finds so far was early on Gracie tracked a runaway juvenile. This juvenile went approximately three miles during a cold winter night with no shoes. After being on the track for a while Gracie went to a tree looked up and began to bark (i figured we found a squirrel). Sitting in the tree was the missing juvenile, cold and had had cuts on her feet and arms from running through thick brush. Without Gracie, her nose and determination. We probably would have not found the juvenile as quickly as we did. Since then Gracie has been a rock star!"

Their Gear: "Our favorite gear from Ray Allen is our 30' Biothane Lead, that we use for tracking and our ghost harness which is also used for tracking."
