Traffic leads for dogs are shorter dog leashes designed to keep a dog very close to their handler, especially in high-traffic areas such as busy city streets, shopping centers, or anywhere crowds tend to gather. Usually between 1-2 feet in length max, traffic leads are often used in K9 tactical work or for dog training and provide the handler greater control and are very helpful during training when teaching a dog to “heel.”
