The RAM Collar™ 3" was built for the kind of dog that hits like a truck and works like a professional. We designed it for extra large working K9s where strength, stability, and pressure distribution across the neck are not optional, they are mandatory. This collar takes the wide, powerful profile of a 3 inch agitation leather collar and blends it with modern tactical materials to create a tool that can handle real bite work, real deployment, and real control.
Why We Built a 3 Inch RAM Collar
For years, we focused on 2 inch collars for traditional working dogs like Dutch Shepherds and Belgian Malinois. As genetics have evolved and more handlers work bigger Dutch lines and large protection breeds (Dogos, Cane Corsos, Presa Canarios, and massive outliers like Primal Canine’s Ozzy and Felix) it became clear that a 2 inch platform was not enough for some dogs.
A wider collar spreads pressure over more surface area, which is exactly what is needed during agitation and heavy leash work on powerful, thick-necked dogs. The problem was not understanding why a 3 inch collar was needed, it was figuring out how to build one that met our standards.
Simple scaling from a 2 inch RAM design did not work. Standard webbing and leather stacks caused the wider collar to fold, collapse, or lose structure under load. We needed a way to keep the collar wide, stable, and strong without turning it into a stiff, uncomfortable slab of leather. That is where Salute™ fabric came in.
How the RAM 3.0 Is Built
At the heart of the RAM Collar 3.0 is a 3 inch section of North American agitation-grade leather. Around that, we integrated Salute™ fabric and Mil Spec nylon. This combination creates a strong spine through the middle of the collar, keeping it flat and supportive while letting the edges stay soft enough to sit comfortably against the dog’s neck.
Key design elements include:
- 3 inch leather body for serious agitation strength and a wide pressure surface.
- Salute™ fabric inlay that gives the collar the structure a 3 inch build demands, without making it excessively bulky.
- 1.75 inch Mil Spec nylon running through the center, allowing us to use proven 1.75 inch hardware while maintaining a true 3 inch footprint.
- Loop VELCRO® across the top so handlers can attach name tapes, ID panels, and morale patches, turning a traditional leather agitation collar into a fully customizable working platform.
The collar closes with a 1.75 inch Austria Alpine Cobra Buckle and integrated V Ring, giving handlers a strong, reliable connection point with quick on/off capability. From a training perspective, that means confident leash work, clean agitation setups, and a collar that will not fail when a big dog hits the end of the line.
Built for Modern Working K9 Programs
We designed the RAM Collar 3.0 for serious work:

Where a 2 inch collar may start to “cut in” or rotate under strong load from a heavy dog, the 3 inch RAM spreads that force out and holds its shape. That protects the dog’s neck, gives the handler more consistent control, and keeps the collar in a stable position during movement and impact.

One advantage of bringing Salute™ fabric into the design is expanded color capability. The RAM Collar 3.0 is available in:

These options let handlers match the collar to harnesses, vests, and other load-bearing gear while keeping the classic heavy leather presence that belongs on a serious working dog.
Sizing for Big Workers
The RAM Collar 3.0 is available in two adjustable size ranges:
- Medium: 14"–26", commonly used for Malinois, German Shepherds, and similarly built working dogs.
- Large: 20"–32", built for bigger breeds like Dogos, Cane Corsos, and other large-frame K9s that truly benefit from the 3-inch width.
Out of the box, the collar will feel stiff. That is exactly what experienced handlers expect from a real agitation-grade leather collar. With a few days of wear and training, it breaks in, softens, and molds to the dog while maintaining the structure that makes the design work.

The RAM Collar™ 3" exists because our friends and professional partners wanted to do more with big, powerful dogs and needed equipment that could keep up. We were asked to build a 3 inch collar that could actually work in the real world, not just look wide on camera. After multiple design attempts, material changes, and structural tweaks, the RAM Collar 3.0 is the result.
We built it to disperse pressure properly, to stand up to real agitation, and to give handlers of large working K9s a true “anything and everything” collar they can trust.
