Meet K9 Pocket, a 2.5-year-old Belgian Malinois and proud rescue from Texas. Don’t let the breed stereotype fool you, Pocket is one of the kindest Malinois you’ll ever meet. She’s full of personality, a little bit sassy, and always eager to work. While she’s not too fond of biting people (which we consider a plus in many situations!), she’s incredibly motivated by toys and food, especially when training is involved. Pocket trains daily and thrives on structure and activity, just like her handler. She has a big heart, a playful attitude, and brings a unique charm to every task she takes on. Whether she’s showing off her skills or just making people smile, Pocket is always ready to go. Pocket is a single-purpose narcotics detection K9, originally trained specifically for drug detection. However, she has since taken her training a step further, learning to track and even bark at suspects on command if necessary. Beyond her operational duties, Pocket is hoping to become an ambassador for the department. Her friendly demeanor and love for people make her a natural fit for community outreach. She will be participating in public demonstrations and events, helping build stronger connections between the department and the community. Pocket isn’t just working, she’s making a difference.
