K9 Helm is the original and only tactical dog helmet built in the USA. Specifically made for dogs who engage in dangerous work, the CS1-A2 GoggleHelm from K9 Helm is the ideal choice for police K9 and military working dogs. Born to meet the needs of USSOCOM, this dog helmet features include military ballistic eye wear spec wrap-around lens, 6061 aluminum side mounting plates for detachable muzzles, a low-profile removable picatinny rail on top, and an internal Biothane retention collar as a primary means for securing when deployed. Complete the GoggleHelm with ear protection covers sold separately.

New for 2025, the CS1-A2 is made of injection molded polycarbonate, which is over 25 times more impact resistant than the previous, 3D printed model. Variant A2 meets or exceeds US military specifications for ballistic safety eye wear. Compliance to: MIL-PRF-31013 and MIL-V-43511C. Test Projectile: Chisel point, 0.15 Caliber @ 750+ FPS

Biothane internally routed collar accommodates neck sizes from 14.5" - 18.5"

Note: Designed only to fit Belgian Malinois and some Dutch and German Shepherd dogs. For those familiar with the Trident TR-1 Gen2 helmet, the CS1-A2 GoggleHelm is very similar to the "regular fit" Trident.

Ballistic Spec Lenses

Clear polycarbonate lenses provide full spectrum UV400 protection, and are compliant with US military specifications for ballistic eye wear. Compliance to: MIL-PRF-31013 and MIL-V-43511C. Test Projectile: Chisel point, 0.15 Caliber @ 750+ FPS

Why only clear, and not smoke tinted? Because clear works in all lighting conditions and offers full UV protection. Most military customers prefer clear lenses for those reasons. After all, the goal is maximum operational performance, not looking cool on social media.

The CS1-A2 includes one installed lens and one spare, each with its own microfiber, drawstring bag. Replacements can be purchased as needed.

EVA Foam Padding

EVA foam padding has Velcro compatible fabric backing, and attaches to hook panels on the interior surfaces of the CS1-A2.

Every CS1-A2 is assembled with a molded top-of-head pad, as well as a wrap-around pad inside the goggle frame. Included are 3 sets of side spacer pads for wide, medium, and narrow heads. Also included is a set of 5 peel-and-stick spacers that can be adhered to the goggle pad, to provide extra cushioning on the sides or under the nose bridge. EVA is a closed cell foam that will not absorb water. Top-of-head pad features an antimicrobial fabric covering for durability.

Replacement padding kits can be special ordered.

Bag, Guide, & Tools

Additional items include a helmet bag, user guide, tools and patch.

The helmet bag is made of polyester, with padded top and side panels, a clear sleeve for a name card or unit patch, and a breathable mesh panel on the bottom. It's roomy enough to fit a CS1-A2 with ear covers installed, and even an attached muzzle (depending on muzzle brand and size). A user guide provides essential information as well as QR codes that can be scanned with a smart phone to watch instructional YouTube videos. Also included are 2 sizes of hex key wrenches, and a Velcro backed, embroidered K9 Helm logo patch.

Military Design History

K9 Helm's CS program is the result of a contract completed for the US Army in 2022. The client's expert K9 handlers at Ft. Bragg, NC requested the development of a lightweight cranial shell with a single wrap-around eye shield, outstanding ventilation, strong mounting points for a detachable muzzle, and a Biothane collar with a conventional buckle for the most secure possible retention. The final prototype helm/muzzle kits delivered to Ft. Bragg provided the basis for a regular production model introduced in 2023 — the K9 Helm Cranial System-One, or CS-1, a nod to K9 Helm's patent US10045513, named Cranial Protection System for a Terrestrial Animal.

Compatibility: The K9 Helm Lo-Pro Ears 2.0 (designed for Trident models) DO NOT fit the CS1-A2 GoggleHelm product.
