Why We Do Things The Way We Do!
I was bouncing around the Internet the other
day looking for fishing equipment to replace
my old, worn, or just plain broken gear I have
now. Summer is coming and fishing is a big
part of my down time. So why not see about
getting outfitted with the latest gear.
For a number of years now I have been a
loyal fan of various manufactures of fishing
gear. Each had their appeals, features, and
that all important deal clincher - STYLE. Yep I
said it - style. Everything in our lives is
affected by that little word. It describes
everything we want to identify with.
So back to looking for fishing gear! I looked at
my old standby makes and models. Always
functional and durable - ready at a moment's
notice to go for the big ones. But they came
with a price. So I kept on looking. I found all
manner of "look-alike" products, knockoffs,
you name it; all at very attractive prices. All of
which had STYLE! But what was hidden
underneath? Was I willing to take the chance
and perhaps let a big one get away?
We have made it a point here at Ray Allen to
always put function over form. Sure, style
plays a part but when it's all said and done,
style doesn't catch that big fish, hold back
that dog, protect that decoy or provide long
lasting value. Sure, I could have saved a few
dollars by buying the style driven look-alikes
but I am more interested in catching the big
ones time and time again.
